P2P Filesharing
Filesharing is the sharing of digital media like music, movies, and ebooks. Peer-to-peer filesharing, also known as P2P filesharing is distributing this digital media by allowing access from one device to another. An example of this is Apple's version called AirDrop. This feature creates the ability to share files from one apple device to another instantly with the tap of a button. A further example of P2P filesharing is the illegal sharing of music which was very popular back in the early 2000's. A program called "BitTorrent" was used to allow users to download music using their P2P software. "Streaming has gotten efficient and cheap enough and it gives users more control than downloads do. This is where piracy is headed" (NYTimes - Digital Pirates Winning Battle with Studios)
